Surah An-Nas Overview

Surah An-Nas is one of the most powerful and frequently recited Surahs of the Holy Quran. It is a Makki Surah, revealed in Makkah, and is included in Para 30 (Juz 30) of the Quran. Surah An-Nas is the last Surah of the Holy Quran, consisting of 6 short but deeply meaningful verses.

This Surah focuses entirely on seeking refuge in Allah Almighty from all forms of evil, especially the whispers of Shaytaan, Jinn, and misguided humans. Along with Surah Al-Falaq, it was revealed when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was affected by black magic. Both Surahs were sent as divine protection and healing.

Al-Mu’awwidhatayn (The Two Protecting Surahs)

Surah An-Nas and Surah Al-Falaq are collectively known as Al-Mu’awwidhatayn, meaning the two Surahs of protection. While Surah Al-Falaq protects from visible and external harms, Surah An-Nas safeguards believers from hidden and internal evils, particularly whisperings that corrupt the heart and mind.

Surah An-Nas teaches Muslims to seek refuge in:

• The Lord of mankind
• The King of mankind
• The God of mankind

This triple description highlights Allah’s complete authority and protection over humanity.

Importance & Benefits of Surah An-Nas

The benefits of Surah An-Nas are immense. Regular recitation helps protect against:

• Shaytaan’s whispers
• Jinn and spiritual harm
• Black magic and evil eye
• Anxiety, fear, and nightmares

Reciting Surah An-Nas before sleeping brings peace to the heart and ensures spiritual safety throughout the night.

Hadith on the Virtue of Surah An-Nas

According to narrations:

• Imam Baqir (R.A) stated that whoever recites Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq, and Surah An-Nas in Witr prayer will be told:
  “O servant of Allah, rejoice! Your prayer has been accepted.”
• It is also narrated that when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ fell seriously ill, Angel Jibraeel (A.S) recited Surah Al-Falaq, and Angel Mikaeel (A.S) recited Surah An-Nas, placing the Prophet ﷺ under Allah’s divine protection.

Surah An-Nas Wazaif

Wazifa for the Release of an Innocent Prisoner

Perform this wazifa for 21 days with sincerity:

1. Recite Durood-e-Pak 11 times
2. Surah Al-Fatiha (11 times)
3. Ayat-ul-Kursi & Ayat-e-Kareema (11 times each)
4. Surah Al-Falaq (11 times)
5. Surah An-Nas (11 times)
6. End with Durood-e-Pak 11 times

Allah will grant ease and justice, In’Sha’Allah.

  Allah will grant protection and a healthy pregnancy, In’Sha’Allah.

Surah Al-Alaq Overview

Surah Al-Alaq holds a unique and honored position in the Holy Quran as it contains the very first verses revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Initially, only the first five verses were revealed in Cave Hira, Makkah, through Angel Jibraeel (A.S). In the current Quranic order, Surah Al-Alaq is the 96th Surah, consisting of 19 verses, and is part of Para 30 (Juz 30).

Surah Al-Alaq is also known as Surah Iqra, named after its opening command:
“Read in the name of your Lord who created.”

Sunan Ibn Majah

It is narrated that the Prophet ﷺ advised reciting short Surahs, including Surah Al-Alaq, when leading congregational prayers, highlighting its importance and ease.

Sahih al-Bukhari

Hazrat Aisha (R.A) narrated that the first revelation came with the command “Read!”, marking the beginning of divine guidance for humanity.

Sunan an-Nasa’i

The companions of the Prophet ﷺ, including Abu Bakr and Umar (R.A), used to perform Sajda-e-Tilawat while reciting Surah Al-Alaq.
